Birdies Bistro

We recently visited Birdies Bistro on the 28th February 2026 it’s near Hayle and we had such a lovely experience that we felt compelled to share it.

The breakfasts were absolutely excellent – beautifully cooked, generous portions, and made with quality ingredients. The coffee was superb too, the perfect way to start the day while taking in the stunning surroundings. It’s easy to see why their breakfasts receive so much praise.

What really makes Birdies special, however, is the setting. Perched on the edge of the Hayle Estuary, the views are simply beautiful, changing with the tide and offering plenty to watch while you relax over a meal. The bright, airy interior with its hanging plants and cosy atmosphere makes it a wonderful place to sit whatever the weather. The bistro itself highlights its estuary location as one of its key features, and it certainly lives up to that promise. [Please remove this sentence if posting publicly]

Most importantly, the staff were brilliant – warm, friendly and attentive without ever being overbearing. From the moment we arrived we felt genuinely welcomed, and the service helped make the whole visit feel special. Birdies sits on the edge of the RSPB Hayle nature reserve with fantastic estuary views and is known for imaginative takes on classic dishes, which was very much our experience too.
